Meaghan Hughes - Violin

We are excited to introduce you to one of our wonderful violinists. Meet Meaghan Hughes.

Meaghan has been with us now for over a year. She is originally from New Jersey but was raised north of Atlanta, Georgia. She has been playing Violin for 20 years but lends her talents to her students. Meaghan is a Gifted Education Teacher and was recently featured in an article about sharing her passion with her students.

In the article "From Music to Marathons: How Teachers’ Personal Passions Engage and Empower their Students", Meaghan talks about her love of music and how her passion for playing the violin has such a wonderful impact on the students.

In the article, Meaghan is quoted to say “It’s so amazing just to see their faces light upwhen they recognize the song, or they see the instrument and they don’t know what it is, and they want to know more,” Hughes said, reflecting on past students who have followed in her footsteps by joining the band and orchestra at their middle school. “It inspires them, and they remember that.”

Meaghan takes her love of music and shares it willingly with those in her classroom. But she isn't just all about music and the violin. She also enjoys traveling, crafting, reading and spending time with her dogs and guinea pigs.
